Commissioned by the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki "As a Shadow As a Dream" is the first of its kind to be presented in a Greek museum.

The site-specific performance inspired by the idea of the General Director of the Archeological Museum of Thessaloniki Dr Anastasia Gadolou, is designed around the figure of Queen Thessalonike. It is the first of its kind to be presented in a Greek museum and aims to highlight the historical and mythological significance of a the Queen that gave her name to the city.

It portrays her as a symbol of timeless female struggles and tragic figures who faced power, violence, and exclusion. Queen Thessalonike connects ancient Macedonia with contemporary social challenges, addressing issues related to patriarchy, women's role in society, and their fight for equality and justice.

The performance showcased an original musical composition by Trifon Koutsourelis, and an original text by Panos Gkiokas. Renowned performer Aliki Dourmazer along with 20 female volunteer performers from the city of Thessaloniki created an immersive experience for the audience in the permanent exhibition of the Museum that includes the Derveni Krater and the Gold of Macedon.

Director and choreographer Apostolia Papadamaki delved into the depths of memory, summoning archetypal movements sounds and laments that echoed through the Macedonian era to today.
